2002's mammoth of an album is the most experimental from sludge doom lords, deviating from their established sound with an aim to simulate horror movie vibes, bringing new, usually dark factors into the equation, where massive, gargantuan, distorted guitar riffs, retro psychedelic bits, excellent solos, harsh vocal terror, and heavy lunatic atmosphere are aplenty - each of its seven tracks is a manifest of its own, revealing the growing ambitions of cult British three-piece, and while it requires more attention from a listener, the reward of sonic delight is obviously worth the struggle, where the opening '...A Chosen Few' encapsulates the essence of this haunting recording; British digipak re-issue comes with 'Mother of Serpents' bonus
